According to the most recent resolutions, foreign resident draftees who have left the country before the date 29/12/1382, and whom after entering their 13 years of age, have been living abroad for a minimum of2 years (as substantiated through presentation of relevant exit and entry stamps as placed in the applicant’s passport by Iranian border guards and officials), are eligible for buying themselves out of Military Duty and thereby obtaining an Exemption card, upon paying the sum of 100,000,000 Rails . (Regardless of academic documents, or period of absence from service).
Thus far, this regulation is expected to be in effect up to 04/11/1390.
Note:
-The minimum period of the draftee’s stay abroad, at each instance, must be a minimum of 9 months, or otherwise the period of stay is deemed too short and will not be taken into account.
-In order to apply for buying-out of Military Service, the applicant may, having collected all the required documents for the application, refer to the consular sections of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s consulates abroad, or otherwise have a First-degree relative, or his legal attorney refer to the respective offices of the Bureau of Military Service, and follow-up the proceedings of his application.
-Soldiers with escape charges, whom have had their offences addressed, faced retributions and penalties, or been acquitted of charges, may apply for buying themselves out of service.
-Draftees (and Students) who have left the country whilst entrusting pledges to ministries and governmental institutions, may after making necessary arrangements with those establishments and obtaining of their approval, apply for this type of exemption from Military Duty.
